by Mayo on Jul.29, 2009, under Whips
Make: Ferrari
Model: 2010 458 Italia
Now this is just pure eye-candy. And the fact that its not just a ‘concept’ car makes the desire that much stronger!

The Who: Daniel Reese aka Brass Monki
The What: Customized Sneaker Artist
The Wear: Nike Dunks
21 year old Daniel Reese has created a site to sell/showcase some of his custom artwork on the classic Nike Dunk sneakers. Extremely detailed and well thought-out, these shoes practically look Nike authentic. I’ve never been much on custom art on shoes but some of these designs are pretty hot.. Just got Nike+ and so far, so good! Check it out. The online monitoring of your runs is pretty nice, and being able to set up goals and join running challenges is pretty motivating. Check out some of the screen-shots below:

Linos Record Player

The Who: Concept Designer, Charlie Pyott
The What: “Linos” Concept Record Player
I love when design is re-thought. Even when a certain technology is said to be obsolete, theres no reason to settle. New & modern design paves the ways for more convenience, better usability, and most of all – new enjoyment! I would sure like to see something like this into production, but as nice as this would be in a modern-style home, I wonder if it could hold up in the club…
Perhaps one day we will find out!

Irene L.
by Mayo on Jul.12, 2009, under Photography
Photographer: Irene L.
Referred to as “Magical Realism”, Irene L’s dreamy photography falls nothing short of amazing. Her use of bokeh (out-of-focus lighting) is captivating. Check out what artsytime.com had to say about Ms. L:
“Work of the photographer Irene L. reminds me of a fairytale. It’s so hazy and it looks like it is somewhere between a dream and a real life. Looking at her work makes me feel relaxed and forget about all the speed, rush and clutter of the real life. I feel the need to stop for a while, take a deep breath and just enjoy the moment with all the beauty and the simplicity of life.”

Besides from Kelly’s amazing photography, Her illustrations have appeared in magazines such as Pulp, Karen, Fluro, Yen and Lucire.” -cyanatrendland
As much as I love her photography, her illustrations are what keep me coming back. They are both simple & seductive. Her use of earth-tones and simple color contrast are so subtle yet so effective… Let me know what you think!
